Five young Turkish sisters, wild and with great love for life, grow up in their grandmother’s house. Slowly the house becomes more rigid and closed, and contact with the outside world is shrinks. Instead of going to school, the girls are forced to take cooking and sewing lessons, and instead of watching the soccer game, they must prepare for their arranged marriages. The sisters to fight back, each in their own way. The drama, which is interwoven with comical moments and unforgettable performances by the freshman actresses, won the “Cannes Audience Award” at Cannes, and provides a rare glimpse into Turkish society, torn between traditional and modern.
